Friday freebie - June calendar

I haven't been around here much - still very busy with some label designs for a client, but don't despair here is your June calendar! I made an inverted version just for fun and they are both on the printabe pdf. Have a fantastic weekend!

Summer blue

Winter is upon us, but today was such a beautiful almost summer day and it made me think of wearing a pretty summer dress and going for a stroll along the beach with an ice cream in hand. Not at all what I did, but I should have!

Blue dress

This dress reminds me of a blue dress I had as a teenage girl - it actually drove my mom crazy, because for a while there I was kinda hooked on blue and wanted no clothes if it wasn't powder blue! Now it's my turn and often makes me smile when my daughter is very specific about what she wants to wear and what she will not wear, although she is actually very easy going when it comes to clothes.

The rat and the rooster

In Chinese astrology the rat and the rooster is not compatible - as both are competitive creatures. Rooster is outspoken, keen on the spotlight and grabbing attention - the natural defense of the rat is to nag at the rooster. However this was not the inspiration for my design, our beloved pet rat died over the weekend and I thought it would be fun to include a rat in my design, they love to sit on a height and look at their small world - I will miss her inquisitive cute little face. I had a lot of fun with this design and actually made a few versions - I don't like doing that, because I end up not knowing which one to choose ;-) My entry for the celestial challenge over at Take a Word this week.
