Child's play

I thought it would be fun to show you the images that I've used to create this design, it's amazing what a little colour can do! My entry for the children challenge at Theme Thursday.

Velocipede

Latin for "fast foot", mainly used as a collective term for the different forerunners of the monowheel, the bicycle, the dicycle, the tricycle and the quadcycle that were developed between 1817 and 1880. My entry for Three Muses wheel challenge.

Black Jack

I had a suggestion for a deck of cards in the style of Queen of green. I don't know about the whole deck, but it's a nice challenge and will see how far I can go with this theme. This guy doesn't really look like a male servant, I guess it was his night off and he decided to dress as a gentleman and smoke his pipe ;-)

Friday freebie - vintage measuring tape

I wanted a vintage measuring tape, and couldn't find one - so I decided to take a new one and make it look old. First I soaked it in Rooibos tea for a day, but it didn't really have the desired effect - ended up using distressing ink to give it that vintage feel. This is a piece of it, but I have to admit for this version there was a little bit of digital enhancing involved and actually what I would like the real one to look like ;-)  Have fun!

I was so happy when I saw the Sunday Postcard Art challenge was mushroom this week. This beautiful mushroom image was posted by the Graphics Fairy a week or two ago and I could hardly wait to use it. Linking to Brag Monday.
