My fair lady

I decided it was time for a sequel to the 1964 classic ;-) Here is the poster, and my entry for the In the world of Movies challenge from Three Muses.

Waratah

An eastern Australian genus of four species, Telopea speciosissima - was proclaimed the official floral emblem of New South Wales. The generic name Telopea is derived from the Greek 'telopos', meaning 'seen from afar', and refers to the great distance from which the crimson flowers are discernible. The specific name speciosissima is the superlative of the Latin adjective 'speciosus', meaning 'beautiful' or 'handsome'. 'Waratah', the Aboriginal name for the species, was adopted by early settlers at Port Jackson. My entry for the Theme Thursday ATC with flowers challenge.

I have a dream of taking a trip in a hot air balloon one day, but for now pretty pictures will have to do ;-)  While I was busy designing the envelope, I thought how great it would be to receive an envelope like this with a ticket for a hot air balloon trip inside! I experimented with some sepia filters to give this piece a bit of a dark feel. I love how the red roses contrasts with the black! My entry for the Three Muses challenge, Blackbird.

Oh . . . how I enjoyed the  favourite colour combo challenge from Theme Thursday! I just love the combination of these two colours! Back in the 70's we would hand in a film for processing and then pick up the photos in one of these envelopes. I replaced the logo, because I don't know if the shop is still in business and cleaned it up a little, so you can have more fun with it and write in your own details etc.Click here for your free copy. Snow Queen

My inspiration for this design was the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen: " Kay's grandmother tells the children about the Snow Queen, who is ruler over the snowflakes, that look like bees — that is why they are called "snow bees." As bees have a queen, so do the snow bees, and she is seen where the snowflakes cluster the most." My entry for the winter challenge at Theme Thursday.

Coulrophobia

. . . . . is an abnormal or exaggerated fear of clowns, which I imagine can be a real fear if a clown looks like this ;-) I played around with a few filters to create the eery look - and made a few versions - my daughter chose this one as the scariest of them all.
