Cock-a-doodle-doo . . .

Apparently the idea of a rooster only crowing at the break of dawn is more romantic than real - as I am told that a rooster can and will crow at any time of the day!  I don't have a rooster, so I cannot vouch for this, so please leave a comment if you have a rooster and let us know ;-) All the images used in this design are from the graphics fairy - linking to Brag Monday.

Fairy door

Can you see the fairy hiding behind the door, and the little elve behind the bunny - how about the leprechaun between the grass? Well neither can I, but it sure is nice to imagine it . . . do you believe in fairies? My entry for Take a Word door challenge

Time travel

I think I said it before, but here it is again - I would so LOVE to take a trip in a hot air balloon. It just seems so romantic! My entry for the time challenge at Three Muses

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

I really didn't know where to start with the crazy challenge from Theme Thursday, eventually I decided to infuse this vintage page with some bright colours and use a few filters to create something crazy ;-) My husband gave it one look and didn't think it was crazy at all, so I decided to go wild and used a radial blur and more filters - now that's the craziest I can go and I have to admit I like it ;-)

A Bridal Affair

Hope you had a great weekend, mine was very busy and I struggled a little bit with inspiration for my designs, somehow this bride silhouette just caught my eye -  I was tempted to add flowers or a birdie, but sometimes keeping it simple just works - don't you think? The silhouette and background from Graphics Fairy -  linking to Brag Monday.

Buying my designs

I am very excited to tell you that some of my designs are now for sale as either prints/cards or downloads through Fotomoto. You will either see a "buy card" or "download"  underneath the designs which are for sale. Some of the older designs are not suited for large prints due to their resolution. Please contact me if you are interested in a specific design as a large print and I will gladly redesign it if possible and make it available.  When you click on "Buy" or "download", the Fotomoto Widget appears and shows a preview of the image and a menu of options. You can select the preferred size, product and paper type before you proceed directly through the sale. You can go here for an overview of the products and quality of their printing. Please note that downloads are for PERSONAL USE ONLY, which means you can print it for your own use and not distribute it or make anything to sell with the design. You will  receive a high resolution print/download without the watermark! Please keep in mind that my designs are collages of mostly scanned vintage images, these are sometimes grainy - but hey that's why they are called vintage! Fotomoto is based in San Fransisco in the US and they have just secured a UK partner, which should help with shipping costs so if you live outside the US or Europe and feel that the shipping cost is too high - please contact me if you re interested in buying a design.

Historians believe that the actual English word romance developed from a vernacular dialect within the French language meaning "verse narrative" - referring to the style of speech, writing, and artistic talents within elite classes. The word was originally an adverb of the Latin origin Romanicus, meaning "of the Roman style" The connecting notion is that European medieval vernacular tales were usually about chivalric adventure, not combining the idea of love until late into the seventeenth century. I am not sure whether these two are in love, but it sure looks like a romance is developing ;-) My entry for Take a Word romance challenge.

Red hot chilli peppers

In case you didn't know . . . . the cayenne pepper - also known as the Guinea spice, Cow Horn Pepper, aleva or bird pepper or, especially in its powdered form, red pepper - is a hot, red chilli pepper used to flavour dishes and for medicinal purposes. Named for the city of Cayenne in French Guiana, it is a cultivar of Capsicum annuum related to bell peppers, jalapeños, and others. My entry for Three Muses hot hot hot challenge.

All you need is some fabric, a pattern, sewing machine and some good quality thread  . . . . what are you waiting for - start sewing!!! ;-) I am talking to myself - so many things I would like to sew, but between my sewing machine bailing out on me and finding time between making collages and what not - I just never get to it.  The spool advertisement and the sewing machine are both from Graphics Fairy - linking to Brag Monday.
