Zetti

I love the whimsical, quirky style of Zetti art - this is my first attempt at it. I present - Audrey Hepburn goes Zetti! It sure was a lot of fun doing this and I might just try my hand at it again! My entry for Three Muses Challenge - World of Zetti.

A pumpkin in the cage . . . .

. . . .  is worth two on the vine ;-)  I really don't have a fitting title or story for this one, except that I've had this image in my head for quite some time and had to get it out! In retrospect I could have used a crow on the cage to give it more of a halloween feel maybe? Linking to Brag Monday -  the beautiful postard, the cage and the pumpkin are courtesy of the wonderful Graphics Fairy!

Saturday special

I don't usually post on a Saturday, but for a good cause I will make an exception - in this case two ;-) First off I would like to welcome everyone visiting from A Vintage Affaire and a BIG thanks to Sherrie for shining the spotlight on me today! I hope you enjoy your visit and would love it if you leave a comment so I know you were here. If you haven't been there yet, buzz over to The Blog Guidebook - it's a great place for all things bloggy. You can list your blog for free and they have great tips and tricks for blogging. I have found the most amazing blogs through their spotlight feature and there are some great giveaways too.

Friday freebie - Entrée ticket

I found this ticket stub while going through my little box of treasures from a holiday in Europe, which was some 20 odd years ago. This was from a museum visit in Paris - such wonderful memories! I changed it a little bit to hide the logo's etc, click here for your free copy.

Velocipede

Latin for "fast foot", mainly used as a collective term for the different forerunners of the monowheel, the bicycle, the dicycle, the tricycle and the quadcycle that were developed between 1817 and 1880. My entry for Three Muses wheel challenge.

Black Jack

I had a suggestion for a deck of cards in the style of Queen of green. I don't know about the whole deck, but it's a nice challenge and will see how far I can go with this theme. This guy doesn't really look like a male servant, I guess it was his night off and he decided to dress as a gentleman and smoke his pipe ;-)

Friday freebie - vintage measuring tape

I wanted a vintage measuring tape, and couldn't find one - so I decided to take a new one and make it look old. First I soaked it in Rooibos tea for a day, but it didn't really have the desired effect - ended up using distressing ink to give it that vintage feel. This is a piece of it, but I have to admit for this version there was a little bit of digital enhancing involved and actually what I would like the real one to look like ;-)  Have fun!

Cozy seat

I was so happy when I saw the Sunday Postcard Art challenge was mushroom this week. This beautiful mushroom image was posted by the Graphics Fairy a week or two ago and I could hardly wait to use it. Linking to Brag Monday.

True Blue

True Blue is one of my favourite Madonna songs, couldn't get it out of my head while working on this. This lady is from a vintage ad for underwear - I love to change her eyes, hair etc. to suit a specific design. As usual on a Monday, I am linking to Brag Monday - this beautiful blue frame is from the Graphic's Fairy.

I guess I got so carried away with the colours on this beautiful dress, and ended up with a pink haze ;-)

Word search

When I saw the Theme Thursday challenge was "words", my first thought was to use a word search card. I rummaged through my stash of images but couldn't find a suitable one and in the end decided to make my own from scratch. It was one of my favourite pastimes as a child to complete these. There is one hidden word that I did not circle, see if you can find it - let me know ;-)

Odd bird

This magnificent bird is called PeaCouturea and is a very rare species ;-) It is my entry for the odd bird challenge at Three Muses.

I really love the challenge of adding colour to black and white images, like this fountain from the Graphics Fairy - in fact all of the images used in this collage are from Karen's blog. Linking to Brag Monday.
