Postcard to Japan

I have two very dear friends from Japan, who have taught me so much about Japanese culture and also brought me lovely gifts, my favourite being beautiful paper! I actually wanted to use a piece of rice paper as background on which my friend Yuka wrote my name in Japanese, but could not find it last night - much to my dismay! So here is my entry for the Oriental challenge over at Three Muses today.

Oh my, Tania, this is exquisite. Thank you for sharing the story of your Japanese friends, and for sharing some of their generosity with us at Three Muses!

It's so nice you have friends from Japan and have learned some Japanese customs. Your piece is so very pretty and I love the handwriting on the background paper.

One of the blogs I read regularly, http://purplume.wordpress.com, has a lot about Japan and I've become fascinated with it, too. Love your card,
