Mini break
I am taking a little blog break - I've spent the past few days at the hospital, my daughter had an operation after a burst appendix. She is recovering and doing good. I got a wonderful surprise today when checking my mail - Karen from the Graphics Fairy featured my Young Queen Victoria collage on Brag Monday! I would not be able to do what I do without Karen's amazing blog with free graphics!

Friday freebie - 4711 stamp
One of my most treasured belongings is a small bottle of 4711 Eau de Cologne that belonged to my mother. It has a special place on my dresser and I love looking at the beautiful label, but most of all the scent is wonderful. I scanned the label and made this stamp from it, click here for your free stamp.

Eyespresso
Let me see, where did the inspiration for this design come from . . . maybe it is the espressos, macchiatos, cappuccinos and lattes that appear on my desk while I am working. In my eyes (excuse the pun) - my husband is a barista of note and he really spoils me with his creations. I had so much fun with this Three Muse's challenge - eyes. Cafedomancy is the art of reading the future in coffee grounds, which goes back to the earliest days of coffee drinking.

Violet - green
When in doubt, use green - that's my motto! . . .and then combine it with purple ;-) I googled "violet-green" this morning and discovered that it is the name of a beautiful small North American swallow, had I known this last night that little swallow would have been sitting right there on the frame. I am entering this for Theme Thursday's challenge this week - the colour green.

The Young Victoria
Karen from the graphics fairy posted this black and white ornate frame with an image of queen Victoria some time ago, and I immediately thought of using it with this picture of a young queen Victoria, which I think is quite a beautiful picture. I added the roses for a pop of colour, I only found out today the queen Victoria rose is a mauve coloured rose. I have not seen the movie yet, hopefully some time soon.

My Creative space - Where Bloggers Create
Time for a blog party - hi everyone, welcome to my creative space. This is really just a picture of my desk, because that's all there is. My desk occupies a corner in the dining room and this is where I spend most evenings creating digital collages. I need the big clock to know what time it is - because as you know, time flies when you're having fun ;-) When I feel like scrapbooking or making a card, the dining room table becomes my work area - what a mess!!! I added the frame to spruce up my picture, since it looked a little ordinary ;-) Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Fashion
This was the image provided for Collage Obsession's challenge this week, my first thought was to only use the lady in the white dress. Halfway through my design I decided to give the lady in black with the shock and horror expression, something to be shocked about ;-)

Buttons and bows
I made a vintage style button card for Three Muses challenge this week. I have fond childhood memories of rummaging through my mom's button stash - admiring the beautiful cards and buttons.

Time for a hat
Theme Thursday's challenge for this week is - men with hats. I find it difficult to use men in my designs and decided to keep it simple.

Tea anyone?
I love this quote from Alice in Wonderland, so funny!
"Of all the silly nonsense, this is the stupidest tea party I've ever been to in all my life"

Friday freebie - purple phlox
I have this big old book with a leather belt around it - my mom use to press flowers and leaves in it, she then made beautiful arrangements with the flowers and framed it. After 20 years some of the flowers are just a speckle of dust and some preserved well - like these garden phlox. I scanned them and then enhanced the colour digitally. Click here for your free bunch of phlox.

Magic carpet ride
I chose "Magic carpet ride" from Buffalo for Three Muse's challenge - take a song, any song. I know, I know it looks more like a crazy picnic carpet ride ;-) My husband thought it was "Ticket to ride" from the Beatles - anyhow, it was a lot of fun putting it together.

Perles organiques
No collage today, instead I played around with this charming label from the graphics fairy - thought it needed a bit of glamming up. I wouldn't mind picking these beauties from my veggie garden.

Friday freebie - silver frame
She reminds me of the classic cocktail - pink lady. One of the first "girly drinks" and a favourite of the high society ladies of the 30's. The frame is one of my own picture frames that I scanned, I have to say it took quite a bit of cleaning up and looks a bit grungy, but I like how it turned out - click here for your free copy. Let me know if you have trouble removing the white background, the png file was a 1.2MB so I decided to post the jpg. Try a pink lady this weekend!

The music of time
The Three Muses challenge theme for this week is Time. Nothing like a challenge to get the creative juices flowing, this was fun!!!

No smoking
There is something about the smell of pipe smoke that evokes feelings of nostalgia within me, I guess it reminds me of my grandfather.
