Friday Freebie - Paris tags

Ernest Hemingway's "If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast." from his published memoirs of his life in 1920s Paris, called "A Moveable Feast" inspired me to make this tag. I hope it inspires you in some way, I just love that quote! Have a great weekend!!

From Paris with love

I had the pleasure of spending a few days in Paris in 1990, my memories still inspire me . . .  I hope to go back one day! My entry for the written word Three Muses challenge. Travel

Oh travel . . . . what a wondrous thing - just love it and hope that I will have the opportunity to do so again one day - but for now I will be happy to show you what's in my mind's eye!  My entry for the Take a Word travel challenge.

La dame de fer

One of my favourite works of architecture - the tower was much criticised by the public when it was built, with many calling it an eyesore. Newspapers of the day were filled with angry letters from the arts community of Paris. My entry for Take a Word's architecture challenge.

Sweethearts

I only recently found this Victorian graphic of children ice skating on Karen's blog, so nice to discover a treasure like that - she posted it in 2008 - so cute! The postcard is also from Graphic's Fairy - linking to Brag Monday. Can't help but wonder . . . . are these two still holding hands?

Touched by colour

A hodgepodge of a few things I really like - 1920's fashion, bold colours, french ephemera and feathered creatures. Her hairdo was known as the Marcel wave - a stylish wave given to the hair by means of a heated curling iron. Named after Francois Marcel, a 19th century French hairdresser who invented the process in 1872. It revolutionized the art of hairdressing all over the world and remained in vogue for over fifty years, no doubt making a fortune for monsieur Marcel!
