Hats and Bonnets

During the 1820's wide-brimmed hats and hat-like bonnets with masses of feathers and ribbon trims were worn by fashionable ladies - my entry for the hats challenge over at Theme Thursday.

Lavender

Of course I had to start with something green for a botanical theme ;-) - so I picked this frame and just knew that I had to use lavender with it. Lavender must be one my favourite plants/flowers - there is a lavender hedge that frames the pathway to my front door and I just love smelling and seeing it before entering the house. This is my entry for the botanical challenge at Take a Word.

Lavender & Lime

Oh . . . how I enjoyed the  favourite colour combo challenge from Theme Thursday! I just love the combination of these two colours! The background is part of a french document that Miette from Chez La Miette bricole shared with Karen from the Graphics Fairy - two very generous ladies! Due to time difference, I am still in time to share this on Brag Monday.

Back to Nature

I've been busy the last few days with Christening invitations for my little niece, subsequently I did not spend a lot of time on this one, nevertheless here is my entry for the Three Muses challenge. With Spring in the air that is exactly what I want to do. . . . . . get out of the glass cloche - back to nature!

Friday freebie - purple phlox

I have this big old book with a leather belt around it - my mom use to press flowers and leaves in it, she then made beautiful arrangements with the flowers and framed it. After 20 years some of the flowers are just a speckle of dust and some preserved well - like these garden phlox. I scanned them and then enhanced the colour digitally. Bright Colours

Theme Thursday's challenge for this week - bright colours! These dazzling girls are from a vintage sewing pattern.

Purple iris

Dating back to ancient Greek times, purple irises were planted over the graves of woman to summon the Greek goddess Iris to guide them in their journey.
I discovered Collage Obsession today and will try and take part in their weekly challenge.

Couture organique

This cabbage had fabulous skirt written all over it . . . . . you gotta use your imagination sometimes ;-)

I never get tired of the combination of purple and green, although I am a bit biased considering that it is my two favourite colours.
