The rat and the rooster

In Chinese astrology the rat and the rooster is not compatible - as both are competitive creatures. Rooster is outspoken, keen on the spotlight and grabbing attention - the natural defense of the rat is to nag at the rooster. However this was not the inspiration for my design, our beloved pet rat died over the weekend and I thought it would be fun to include a rat in my design, they love to sit on a height and look at their small world - I will miss her inquisitive cute little face. Darling Dahlia

This was such a fun challenge - I immediately knew I wanted to use a playing card, and the red dahlias were practically screaming to be in the same picture as this glamorous lady. My entry for Theme Thursday's Red and black challenge.

Black Jack

I had a suggestion for a deck of cards in the style of Queen of green. I don't know about the whole deck, but it's a nice challenge and will see how far I can go with this theme. This guy doesn't really look like a male servant, I guess it was his night off and he decided to dress as a gentleman and smoke his pipe ;-)

In the doghouse

A little snail told me that a dog went for a stroll and on his return found a rooster has nested in his house, my entry for the house challenge at Sunday Postcard Art.

Queen of green

Now there's a title that describes me ;-) I simply could not resist using my favourite colour again - I love how dramatic the green looks with the black! The crown, stones and silhouette are from Graphics Fairy, so I am linking to Brag Monday.
