Summer blue

Winter is upon us, but today was such a beautiful almost summer day and it made me think of wearing a pretty summer dress and going for a stroll along the beach with an ice cream in hand. Not at all what I did, but I should have!

Blue dress

This dress reminds me of a blue dress I had as a teenage girl - it actually drove my mom crazy, because for a while there I was kinda hooked on blue and wanted no clothes if it wasn't powder blue! Now it's my turn and often makes me smile when my daughter is very specific about what she wants to wear and what she will not wear, although she is actually very easy going when it comes to clothes.

Hat

Mona Lisa

Want a beautiful complexion like me? Always wear a hat and only use products that are not tested on animals! ;-) My entry for the altered Mona challenge at Three Muses.

Gathering fish

I love words and especially learning new ones -  did you know that a yaffle was an armful of dried or nearly dried salt fish - the amount that could be comfortably carried under one arm. It was also used as a verb, as in to take up an armful of fish. It also had a more general usage as a verb, referring to the work of spreading, gathering and piling fish. This fashionable lady is from a vintage sewing pattern -  I love her little hat and off course the square bag! This is my entry for the square art challenge over at Theme Thursday and after a few suggestions from blog friends - also the number challenge at Three Muses.

Half and half

I chose the perfect background, chose the perfect man . . . . . . and then I cut him in half - because I needed more than one man! ;-) No need to be alarmed . . . . it is only my entry for the vintage men challenge at Theme Thursday

A little snail told me that a dog went for a stroll and on his return found a rooster has nested in his house, my entry for the house challenge at Sunday Postcard Art.

Time for a hat

Theme Thursday's challenge for this week is - men with hats. I find it difficult to use men in my designs and decided to keep it simple.

Magic carpet ride

I chose "Magic carpet ride" from Buffalo for Three Muse's challenge - take a song, any song. I know, I know it looks more like a crazy picnic carpet ride ;-) My husband thought it was "Ticket to ride" from the Beatles - anyhow, it was a lot of fun putting it together.

Couture organique

This cabbage had fabulous skirt written all over it . . . . . you gotta use your imagination sometimes ;-)

I never get tired of the combination of purple and green, although I am a bit biased considering that it is my two favourite colours.
